Topics to be covered will include:

1.  Discussions of the different available dental ceramics and their different material and optical properties

2.  Parameters for selecting different materials based upon functional and aesthetic requirements

3.  Cementation techniques for optimal ceramic strength

4.  Pushing the limits - how far can you go with bonded ceramics and discussion of preparation design philosophy

5.  Failure - How do ceramics fail?  What are the some of the problems with modern ceramic systems?

Dr Eric Tan graduated in dentistry from the University of Adelaide and shortly thereafter completed a Masters degree in Prosthodontics from the University of Melbourne.  He has lectured in Australia and internationally on topics relating to implant dentistry, adhesion, occlusion and ceramics.  He is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Melbourne Dental School and is involved in the clinical teaching of fixed prosthodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Melbourne at the postgraduate level. He maintains a Private Specialist Prosthodontic Practice in Melbourne, Victoria. Eric is also the immediate Past Federal Treasurer of the Australian Prosthodontic Society and an Advisory Board Member of the Melbourne Seattle Study Club
