Prosthodontic Paradigms - Dental Implants
Presenter: Dr John Martin, Specialist Prosthodontist
BSc (Biomed), BDSC (Hons I), DClinDent (Prosthodontics), Fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics
This lecture is intended to open up discussion as to why implants fail, when implants fail, and explore various back-up plans available in the event of dental implant failure - from removable prostheses to osseoframes. This lecture is designed to give clinically relevant information to help guide treatment decisions and provide better informed consent to patients.
Speaker Biography - Dr John Martin
Dr John Martin is a specialist Prosthodontist who completed a fellowship in maxillofacial prosthodontics and dental oncology at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney. Dr Martin enjoys all aspects of prosthodontics with a focus on providing complex dental and facial rehabilitation to patients following oncological resection, trauma, and severe dental disease.
Dr Martin is a former examiner for the RACDS primary examinations and an honorary associate lecturer at the University of Queensland. He has regularly volunteered and coordinated volunteer projects both in Australia and overseas over the last 20 years. He is an active member of the ADA and served on both the Queensland and Federal ADA Councils.
Dr Martin is currently working in private practice and at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in Sydney.
